About us…
When Contempo opened its doors in 1977, we were a small provider of individual travel services. Our aim was to build a reputation by providing a high level of customer service and an equally high level of real estater products. Today, while we have grown considerably, we still abide by the same simple philosophy. We can offer an incredibly broad range of inter-related travel, real estate and property management services and have expanded into land acquisition, development and construction with major projects in Florida and the Caribbean.
Specializing in luxury vacation homes in desirable areas, all of Contempo areas, all of Contempo's sales agents are licensed realtors and governed under the stict rules of the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC), while operating under the local guidelines of the Osceola Association of Realtors, working directly with potential buyers to help them find the perfect second home to match their personal vacation or investment plans. Specializing in luxury homes in desirable areas, our experienced real estate agents point clients to the most valuable new sale and resale opportunities and can assist buyers in securing the necessary financing.
Meet the team…
Don Wherrett
Don first purchased the Contempo Group in 1977 in Los Angles. He incorporated into Florida in 1990/91 and was joined by current partner and friend Gary Leventhal. Don helped to create a short-term rental ordinance in Polk County and accurately forecasted the growth in Polk County to the department of tourism and county commissioners. With original partner Gary Leventhal and more recently Ian Pardoe the size of the group has increased to become one of the major companies in the short term rental and real estate sales industry. |

Gary Leventhal
An entrepreneur in the truest sense, Gary already with 2 successful careers behind him in the UK moved to Florida in 1993 and joined his partner Don Wherret to develop the Contempo Group of Company's.
His understanding of market forces, ability to spot an opportunity and excellent business contacts mean that he has with Don, built a recognized and respected brand. Frustrated by the limitations and poor service of selling other builders projects, Gary has recently spearheaded a project in which CRE will build their own homes here in Central Florida.
Gary continues to lead the sales team of 10 licensed sales associates, drive all new projects and run the busy real estate office here in Davenport.

Scott Leventhal
As a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and OSCAR and a fully licensed salesperson in Florida for the past 6 years, Scott is well respected as a senior salesperson by his peers for his in depth knowledge of the Real Estate Market, and for his creation of investment packages for national and international buyers and sellers.
Originating from the UK, Scott owned and operated several very successful businesses’ in construction and delivery services both private and franchised. Prior to moving to Florida in 2000, he gained considerable experience working in the commercial and corporate vertical markets, representing a private independent pension company.
With customer service a priority, and experience that is second to none, Scott will assist his clients in all transactions, ensuring that they are completed effortlessly, without stress, and most importantly, with trust and peace of mind.

Reeve Leventhal
A member of NAR and Oscar, Reeve has been a fully licensed realtor in Florida for the past 4 years. Prior to taking his real estate license, Reeve gained a Marketing degree at University of Central Florida.
With excellent contacts in the Asian/Chinese market, he is well versed with the specific requirements and benefits for Chinese buyers. Reeve also heads up our land projects.

Samantha Longster
Specializing in real estate sales in the Caribbean region, Samantha Longster coordinates all Caribbean sales and has been with Contempo four years. A 2003 graduate of the University of Central Florida, she has been involved in a number of areas within the company helping it grow to its current size. Samantha has been a licensed real estate associate since 2003 and will begin working towards her MBA in the spring of 2007.

A member of NAR (National Association of Realtors) and Oscar, David has been a fully licensed real estate sales associate in Florida for a year.
An experienced sales & management professional, developed during 16 years of selling for major global brand corporates in the UK.
Combined with a first class customer service approach have resulted in his achieving a number of sales related awards. Well regarded by his peers and customers he believes that pre and post client satisfaction is critical in the fast paced & competitive world of real estate in Florida.

Susan Diaz
As a native Floridian and a member of NAR and Oscar, Susan has been a fully licensed realtor for the past 13 years and has become an integral member of the Contempo sales team since her arrival in April 2006. Responsible for our model centers, and currently based in Lake Wilson, Susan combines excellent selling skills with first class pre and post sales service for our clients. Susan is well liked and respected by clients and peers alike, and prides herself on "getting the job done"
Her experience gained with Star Island Resort where she was Manager of Sales and Customer Services have proven useful in her role with Contempo, likewise, her expertise in training and marketing, make her perfect choice for the client facing role she now assumes.

Gordon Figg
Gordon has been a Business Broker for over 2 years and helps people, particularly from the UK, find the right business opportunity in Florida that will qualify them for either an L1 or E2 Visa. He is a fully licensed by the State of Florida as real estate professional and assists buyers in one of the most life changing events they may ever face.
Before moving to the Florida, he was a partner and Commercial Director in a successful Marketing Services company and has a great deal of knowledge in building and developing a business. His personal experience in both obtaining a Visa and relocating will also prove invaluable to anyone wanting to make the move.

Balwinder Birdi
One of the longest serving members of the Contempo team, Balwinder has been a fully licensed realtor for the past 6 years. A member of NAR and OSCAR she manages to combine her realtor responsibilities with the challenges of Project Manager for all new developments undertaken by the group. Responsible for the model centre’s, she works closely with builders, developers and architects on new projects as well as being the integral ‘right hand man’ to Gary Leventhal. Balwinder continues to enjoy the variety and challenge of her varied role.
